- Unexpectedly, here's a Buddhist temple with painted doors and stained glass windows. But the paint is peeling and most of the windows have been boarded up. A certain Red Army battalion commander has taken the place over - supposedly for storage, but those of us who know the pass-words are permitted to join in stern ceremonies before the scarred face of the Buddha.

Место занял некий командир батальона Красной Армии, предположительно под склад, но те, кто знает явки и пароли, участвует в жестоких обрядах перед изрезанным лицом Будды.
- 出乎意料的是，这里居然有一座有着漆过的门和彩色玻璃窗的佛寺。但油漆已经剥落，大部分窗户也都被木板封住了。某一队红军已经占据了此处——据说是为了储藏物资，但我们这些知道暗号的人则被允许加入在佛陀那张满是伤疤的面孔前举行的严肃仪式。
